Tournee Milo de Meyer (1897/1898)

Milo de Meyer, who did a stint at the Carillon as a cabaret singer in addition to some composing, felt more comfortable as an administrator, if his portrait by Grün is to be believed: Jovial and ruddy, an emblematic cat on his shoulder the caricature of a «grosse tête» on short legs. Every summer, led by Rodolphe Salis’ the Chat Noir, all of the cabarets went on tours in France and throughout Europe. Many Milo de Meyer-like types attempted to do the same, most of them meeting with short-lived success.
